El Tepual Airport
This public-private partnership includes remodelling and expanding the passenger terminal area of Puerto Montt's El Tepual Airport from 9,900 m2 to 16,000 m2. The expansion includes a new boarding bridge, the enlargement of the aircraft parking apron, a new control tower and the addition of various infrastructures for the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics (DGAC), the Investigations Police (PDI), the Agriculture and Livestock Service (SAG) and other airport users.
Moreover, diverse assistance services for people with reduced mobility have been added, as well as a public WiFi network, podotactile accessible routes and a major number of seats in the boarding lounge. The improvements on the airport have also included new commercial areas, the construction of 152 new parking lots and the expansion of access roads and aircraft movement.
The development of this project takes into account all civil works and necessary facilities in order to offer the best service, comfort and security conditions to the airlines, passengers and other airport users. These are expected to increase capacity to 3 million passengers per year, consolidating the international character of this regional airport.
