Ruta Pie de Monte

With this project, we strengthen our presence in Chile with the 20th concession asset in the country. It is a road concession located in the BioBío region that includes the design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of a new infrastructure of approximately 20 kilometers. 

The project is conceived as an alternative to the existing Route 160, a urban road with high levels of congestion, especially due to heavy and long-distance traffic.

The new highway, a dual carriageway with to lanes in each direction, will feature free flow electronic tolling systems, as well as six grade-separated interchanges, one bridge, ten overpasses, three underpasses, two viaducts and six pedestrian walkways. As an innovation tsunamis evacuation routes will also be included. 

In addition, safety, drainage and lighting works will carried out, shaping a high-standard strategic infrastructure. These features will enable more efficient traffic management and help divert heavy traffic away from residential areas, improving the quality of life for local residents.

Ruta Pie de Monte will allow the reorganization of traffic in the Greater Concepción area, relieving pressure on the existing network and facilitating smoother and faster travel. At the same time, it will incorporate solutions that enhance its reliability and its capacity to respond to emergency situations.
