El Loa Airport
El Loa Airport P3 project (Calama, Chile) comprises the expansion, improvement, operation and maintenance of the existing infrastructure. This is a key transportation asset for the country’s regional and international connections.
With a planned investment of 102 million euros and a concession term of up to 26 years, Sacyr Concesiones will triple the surface of the passengers’ terminal (from 9,763 to 30,378 m2), and double the size of the commercial aircraft platform (from 22,000 to 42,000 m2). These last works, together with additional developments on the “air-side”, will be executed by the Chilean Airports’ Direction (Dirección de Aeropuertos). The construction phase is scheduled in 48 months. After the completion of these works, the operation phase will start.
After the execution of works, the infrastructure will have 5 additional positions for commercial aircraft, adding four remote positions and seven boarding bridges.
Through the creation of a more comfortable, modern, and safe airport, we are widening our presence in Chile, while contributing to create employment and to promote the economic and social development of this northern mining region.
