Sacyr Concesiones
Valencia, Spain. March, 2021. The widening works of the CV-35 Highway just started. To enhance road safety and improve local connectivity, Sacyr Concesiones together with Sacyr Construction and Engineering are upgrading a trafficked 6 kilometer-tranche adding a third lane. But we were performing much more than road improvements: we were digging into history!
The Turia Highway runs alongside the archaeological site of Clots de Rascanya. These works allowed us to travel in time to the former glory of the Roman Empire: archaeological findings from the 1st-3rd century C.E. have emerged before our eyes. Pottery, kilns, basins and chambers of a craftsmanship site have been duly recovered and classified.
This archaeological find has shed a light to better understand how the ceramic production was made in this Mediterranean area, the distribution of the space and the productive processes of the Roman era, as well as an in-depth analysis of the materials created on-site.
