Puerta de Hierro Highway
This road corridor connects three departments of the Colombian Caribbean Coast. In this project we are in charge of the improvement of 164.59 kilometers of the existing road and the construction of a 5.20 km bypass. With a simple bidirectional carriageway with 3.65 meter lanes and 2 meter berms on each side of the road, for a design speed of 80 km/h, in addition to the construction of four level intersections and one uneven.
The project contemplates several sustainable initiatives. An example can be found in the creation of a plant nursery to protect endangered native species in order to contribute to the restoration and conservation of the tropical dry forest. Thus, this plant nursery has provided 35,000 trees used in the ecological restoration in the Flora and Fauna Sanctuary Los Colorados.
