Eresma Highway
In operation since 2006, the Eresma Highway contract included the construction and redaction of the project, as well as the conservation and operation during 35 years of the southern section of the A-601. This infrastructure, known as "Autovía de Pinares", is considered one of the strategic axes of the region as it connects the cities of Valladolid and Segovia through a high-capacity road. It also serves as an alternative route that connects the center of the country via the Valladolid-Palencia-Santander axis and the Valladolid-León axis.
Additionally, the roadway has become a benchmark in sustainability due to the promotion of solutions that protect the environment. On the one hand, 30 solar panels have been installed in the road’s operation center. The panels will not only decrease the carbon footprint, but also produce more than 19,000 kWh, which will reduce the equivalent of 5,000 kg of CO2eq per year and contribute to the self-generation of around 22% of the facility's energy consumption. On the other hand, we have used Bioroad, an additive for asphalt mixtures elaborated with recycled vegetable oils, on different sections of the road. Its use has allowed us to promote the circular economy and increase the resistance and durability of the motorway.
