We improved access to drinking water in one of the municipalities along the Canal del Dique

We have implemented a drinking water treatment system for the inhabitants of Correa

Sacyr Concesiones

As part of our Canal del Dique P3 project in Colombia, we have worked with the Sacyr Foundation to upgrade a water treatment plant located in Correa, in the municipality of María la Baja. Its new configuration ensures efficient operation and adaptability to the current and future needs of the population, thus helping to improve their quality of life

The plant was deteriorated due to lack of maintenance, to such an extent that the drinking water service was intermittent and, if the necessary corrective measures were not implemented, the plant would become unusable. Thus, we have upgraded the filtration, pumping and storage equipment to guarantee a permanent supply of drinking water and we have improved the photovoltaic energy system. We have also implemented a community strengthening plan for its sustainability over time.

Canal del Dique aims to recover degraded ecosystems in the waterway located between the municipality of Calamar and the bay of Cartagena, along 115 km. Through different hydraulic works we seek to guarantee the navigability of the canal, controlling flows and floods through a system of locks, dikes and floodgates.
