Sacyr Concesiones
2026 marks the 30th anniversary of our first P3 contract. It was in Chile, with the Los Vilos-La Serena Highway, that also represented the beginning of the Sacyr Group's internationalization. We were responsible for doubling 229 kilometers of roadway, as well as its operation and maintenance. In addition, we are currently managing this same road again through its second concession, Ruta del Elqui Highway.
Among the main challenges posed by this first P3 contract were the great length of the highway section it covers and the construction of what was at the time the highest bridge in South America. However, thanks to Sacyr's strong position and the high level of knowledge and experience of our professionals, this challenge became a success story. What’s more, the smooth running of the works and the service provided served as an example to stimulate the development of Chile's P3 system, which had begun in 1992.
This is not the only anniversary for Sacyr this year: apart from the 30-year anniversary of its first P3 contract, the Group celebrates 4 decades of experience, having become an internationally recognized leader in the global infrastructure market.
