ISSSTE Hospital, Tláhuac
The Hospital General del Sur is owned by Mexico's Institute of Social Security and Services for State Workers (ISSSTE) and it is located in the area of Tláhuac, on the south of Mexico City. This infrastracture is our second asset in Mexico and the first public hospital in the country with a seismic isolation system, which ensures proper functioning in case of earthquake. The hospital is equipped with 250 beds, 35 medical specialties and has 42 consulting rooms and 8 operating rooms with cutting-edge technology. The main four-story building spans 35,000 m2.
It has obtained the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification, internationally recognized in the field of sustainable building and created by the US Green Building Council. In addition, innovative construction techniques were used during its construction so that it can withstand seismic movements of up to 9 degrees.
