Barbanza Highway
The Barbanza Highway runs next to the north coast of the saline estuary, Ría de Arousa, and connects Ribeira on the west with the Autopista del Atlántico (AP-9) in Padrón (A Coruña), providing this prominent fish town with access to a road network of high capacity. With a length of 40 kilometers, the inauguration of this highway in December of 2008 made for a noticeable improvement in the safety of the road, especially when compared to the road it was substituting.
