We refinance the Pamplona-Cucuta Highway with the largest social bond for infrastructure projects in Latin America

With the closing of this financial operation in Colombia, Sacyr showcases its capacity to maximize the projects’ value and generate a positive social impact.

Sacyr Concesiones

In June 2023, Sacyr Concesiones has concluded the refinancing of one of its flagships: the road concession of Pamplona-Cucuta, a 4G highway that improves the connectivity in the northeast area of Colombia and enhances its economic, social and environmental development. Its amount has reached 642 million dollars, divided in a social bond ($400M), a bank loan in Colombian pesos ($77M) and a multi-tranche bank credit ($165M).

This operation evidences our commitment to sustainability and the positive impact that we have in the local communities. These aspects have been ratified by Moody's ESG Solutions and are aligned with the Social Loan Principles 2021 of the Loan Syndications and Trading Association (LSTA) and the International Capital Market Association (ICMA).

Moreover, this has been our third social bond issue in Colombia, as well as the largest social bond for an infrastructure project in Latin America
