Water scarcity means that every drop counts. With the project ‘Community water management’, developed in the Colombian municipality of Imués, we are going to enhance the rural aqueducts of the localities of San José, Pilcuán Viejo and Silamá. In addition, an irrigation district will also be built in the latter locality.
This initiative, included in the Environmental and Social Responsibility Plan (PRAS), has the support of the Suyusama Foundation, as well as the local communities' leadership. This has made it possible to advance the works through the installation of pipelines and the construction of a water tank, which will store up to approximately 150 cubic metres of this resource.
These actions will benefit around 1,200 inhabitants of the area, which shows Sacyr commitment to people and the importance granted to protect the natural ecosystems, the resources, and the environmental education.
